The following email was sent in response to an inquiry about the cancellation of COMBAT! on Canada's History Channel. Thank you, Bree, for sharing this.

We appreciate that Combat! is an entertaining and involving series that has many loyal viewers. We carefully considered several factors before deciding to take it off our schedule at this time.

History Television has been airing Combat! since the launch of the network in October 1997. The series, made up of 150 episodes, has aired four times. We have recently acquired many new programs and classic series we think will be of interest to our viewers. We needed to make room in our schedule to present these new programs.

Our new fall schedule, will feature a number of these new programs which we hope you will enjoy as much as Combat!, such as Colditz, The Untouchables, Piece of Cake (about WW1 flyers from Britain) and the groundbreaking network series Tour of Duty four nights a week at 11:00 p.m. ET. (also beginning September 6th)

History Television will continue to hold the broadcast rights to Combat!, and will bring it back within a year's time. We hope you will enjoy the wealth of new programming we will be bringing you this fall.

Kind regards,
Tara Lapointe
