D-Day in 1997 is not going to be easy to film - This isn't 1962, but judging from my
trip to Normandy for the 50th Anniversary celebrations two years ago, you'd be amazed at
the amount of circa-1944 vehicles still riding the roads - everything from 6x6 Eager
Beavers to Dukw Ducks, jeeps, 3/4 ton weapons carriers. Not a lot of heavy tanks, but
thanks to computer technology - all we need is one Sherman to turn it into a dozen or
more. I see the tough part being the usual - German heavy armor. Creating a workable Tiger
Tank will be a great challenge. But I think today's filmmakers are up to it.
