Dear Fellow Squad Members,

Not that I will be the final say on "Combat" the movie, but I promise on my honor, cross my heart, to make sure Sergeant Saunders does not turn traitor in the movie. I would promise to eat my garrison cap, but that's not strong enough. Frankly, I don't think we need to worry. Saunders is the leading character in the movie and his destiny is strictly G.I. I don't blame the worry warts about destroying the "Combat" legend with a crummy movie. There have been a number of crummy films from TV shows and I'm hoping that "Combat" will be closer to "The Fugitive" and "The Untouchables" than "Flipper" and "Car 54 Where Are You." One positive note: "Mission Impossible" is a Paramount film which now owns the "Combat" movie rights. The huge success of MI spells good things for our movie. It now looks like we've missed Bruce Willis' window for 96. But all indications show that it will go in early 97 for a possible Christmas release. We shall see.

Best,
Steve Rubin
