Like Jo says in her episode review, “Hanley boxes himself into a corner…” And the viewers are boxed in as well. We too are forced to consider what is ‘RIGHT’. And by all that’s holy, how could ANYONE know for sure what they would do if put in such an impossible situation? I like to think Saunders, being such a 'man of action', would have found a way to bind the Germans right from the start and get the wounded G.I. Stark out. But I just donno.

In “More than a Soldier” Saunders argues against killing a wounded German then convinces the disillusioned G.I. to re-enter the cave-in to pull the rubble-pinned German out. I wonder how Saunders (and we) would have felt, if AFTER the G.I. had gone back in, it had completely collapsed killing both the German and the G.I.?

Guess that's why I love this show. It's best episodes kept you thinking long after you'd seen the show.
