Combat Fan Page Discussion Forum: About the Actors: Rick Jason: The Fountain of Youth
By Nancy LionStorm (349hvywpnscrew) on Unrecorded Date:

"The Fountain of Youth", starring Rick Jason, Joi Lansing and Dan Tobin was written, directed and narrated by Orson Welles. To paraphrase the LA Times, it is a brilliant, wryly amusing and timeless tale about love and the search for eternal youth.

Produced in 1956 and originally intended as the pilot of "The Orson Wells Show", production proved to be so costly that "The Orson Wells Show" was rejected by the networks. "The Fountain of Youth" was eventually shown as an episode of "Colgate Threatre" in September 1958.

This rarely seen pilot is screening until May 21, 2000, at 3PM, Wednesdays through Sundays, with additional screenings on Thursdays at 7:30PM at the Museum of Television and Radio, 465 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, California. Suggested contribution is $6 for adults; $4 for senior citizens and students; $3 for children under 13 and free for museum members. For more information you can call the museum at (310) 786-1000.
