Vic Morrow & his wife Nancy Turner named their first daughter Jennifer (Morrow). When she became an actress, she dropped her family name in order not to trade on the success of her father. Because
actress Janet Leigh & actor Jason Robards were friends of the family, she renamed herself Jennifer Jason Leigh.
From what I've read on various web links about Vic Morrow, he felt that she was in competition with him & was unsympathetic to her acting aspirations. Jennifer & her sister Carrie (sp?) were teenagers when their father died. Vic Morrow left most of his estate to the younger daughter & did not leave anything to Jennifer. Camoufanne
