Location Shooting: Thousand Oaks

West of the San Fernando valley, Albertson's ranch in Thousand Oaks provided locations for Combat! and other television shows. A freeway separated the area into two sections: the "Gunsmoke" permanent sets were on the south side of the freeway; on the north side, was open land where Combat! shot "Hills Are for Heroes," "Duel," "Gulliver," "The Hell Machine," and other episodes. The area is now Westlake Village condominiums.
