RICHARD DONNER
Director for TV Series Combat!

Originally an actor, Richard Donner broke into directing via television, helming episodes of "The Rifleman," "Wanted: Dead or Alive," "The Twilight Zone," and Combat! He soon built a reputation as an action director for shows such as "The Fugitive" and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", though he also was highly sought after for comedies, including "Get Smart" and "Gilligan's Island."

Richard Donner went on to big-screen success with such blockbusters as "The Omen," "Superman," "Superman II," and the Lethal Weapon films. Actor Gene Hackman used Donner as the model for the director in "Postcards From the Edge" (Hackman worked for Donner in the film "Superman.")
